Originally broadcast 1948-1950 on the Mutual Syndicated network, Blackstone Sr.’s radio show was a first: a magician using his conjuring skills to combat evil-doers. Written by magician Walter B. Gibson, the show concluded with simple magic effects the listener could learn over the airwaves.
Blackstone was in his evening-show prime when these 55 episodes were originally aired, and as the programs demonstrate, Blackstone was a master of media promotion in the 1940s (in fact, more of his fictional crime-fighting adventures were also featured in several Blackstone comic book series during this period).
